Just hanging around the house today. Cammie was having issues with her teeth and was kind of fussy. Joe went to the grocery store for me, he gets big points for that! Then he did some stuff outside while I tried to keep Cammie entertained. She is doing a lot of pulling up on things. Joe lowered her crib down some so she doesn't launch herself over the edge. Not very much exciting happening today. Tomorrow Joe is going to work for 24 hours, and leave me alone with the beasts and the baby!! Hopefully we will all make it through! Just kidding, sort of. I think the worst part is night time. I sleep even worse and the dogs don't sleep very well either when Joe isn't here. Cammie could go either way.

We had a good day today! Alice came over and we took Cammie to Carters. She needed some new pj's and of course I found a couple of other things for her. The summer clothes are too cute! We also checked out Old Navy to see if anything was on sale in there and while we were in the store I smelled something a little suspicious and when I picked up Cammie I realized we had a serious code brown in effect. I always pack a clean outfit in case of such an emergency but had neglected to today because we weren't going to be gone that long. Sooo luckily I had bought her something at Carters to wear because she was a mess. Alice provided much needed backup because for some reason Cammie decided to scream her head off while we were trying to clean her up. and keep her from falling off those stupid changing tables that I hate. We told her that if she wanted to wear a new outfit she could just ask, but the ironic thing is she was wearing a Winnie the Pooh sweatsuit and onesie. Coincidence?? Poo in the Pooh? Maybe those outfits are little too suggestive. Enough of that! Joe was home today and got to spend some quality time with the beasts, Pudge was very happy about that! Cammie took a long enough afternoon nap that Joe and I got to enjoy our dinner and then we hung out this evening. Everyone is sleeping now and Clyde is snoring like a fat trucker. Ugh Have a good weekend!!!

In the heart of the jungle a Cammie is captured on film!

Last night was interesting. Cammie didn't stay asleep long after she went to bed and then after I got her in bed with us and got comfortable the disgusting happened. Bailey threw up on Joe. You all know how much he loves the body fluid thing. Then before he could get up she did it again. EWWWW!!!!! It was so gross. So by the time we got the bed changed Cammie was wide awake again and ready to party. We've been playing today a lot and she has eaten a lot so maybe that will wear her out for tonight.

Daddy helped Cammie stand up but once she was up she was on her own! She got face to face with the orange monkey and thought that was the coolest thing. She also acted like she wanted to crawl again too. She's got the motions she just needs to put it all together. What happened to my little tiny baby?????

Cammie had a fussy day today but I wasn't in the greatest mood either so we were good company. I finally got her to bed about 930 and hopefully she will stay there for the night! She was wound up earlier, sitting in her jumper and just squealing really loudly. It was funny.

All of our pretty snow has turned to slush as it rained all day today, well it iced first just to make it even lovelier. The dogs were funny crunching around in the backyard. I don't think they liked the ice too much. Clyde looked like a polar bear lumbering through the yard.

Update on Pudge

I forgot to mention that Pudge's cyst is benign and will go away on it's own. Thank goodness!! The vet called yesterday morning to give the news. The only thing we have to watch for is infection. His paw is also doing better! He sends sloppy kisses to everyone!!!!

A rare sighting of sleeping Cammie

Last night was another party night. I still think it's the teeth. I keep checking the top and haven't felt anything yet but they have to be coming. As soon as I put oragel on her gums she calms down.

Emily came to see us this morning and Cammie was a little grouchy but she showed off her toys and played a little and spit up a little but was basically cute. She did give me hug that was just adorable. Usually she will put her arms around your neck when you pick her up out of her crib but she was standing between Emily and I on the couch and she reached for me and hugged me around my neck. I immediately forgave all her sleeping difficulties and promised to buy her whatever she wants. She's so cute!!!!

It's been snowing most of the day but hasn't accumulated a whole lot, maybe an inch or so. The dogs love it, it's like they are on crack or something when they go outside. It's so funny. Not much else to report for the day.

Cammie slept better last night, or at least longer in her bed! This morning she woke up in her usual cheery mood and we kidnapped Lynn to run some errands with us so I could leave Cammie in the car with her! That saves my back if I don't have to keep getting her in and out of the car seat. (Don't tell the dogs that we had run out of wet food, they get really weird about that!) After all that this morning we were both worn out so we came home and tidied up a little bit and then hung out and played til Daddy came home. Dinner was courtesy of the crock pot so that was easy enough, although I couldn't convince Joe that I had slaved over cooking! He saw right through me. I finally got Miss Thing to sleep about half an hour ago so I think I am ready to go to bed and hopefully fall asleep! She is pulling herself up a little bit more and more, she gets her butt a couple of inches off the floor and just thinks that is the best thing. The pic here was after she tilted over backwards and just decided to roll around a little.

Got a lot of stuff done around the house today. Cammie had a lot of fun playing with Daddy. Joe made vegetable beef soup for dinner and it was so good. Lots of extra so we can freeze it and have it for awhile. Cammie wasn't really interested in eating much until dinner, she ate her chicken and noodles and a whole bunch of peas. Well a good bit of the peas ended up all over her after she wrestled the spoon out of my hand. She had peas everywhere but she seemed to enjoy herself and she got a bath afterwards so it was OK. We tried giving her a bath in the hall tub the other day and that didn't go over well. That's our only tub and it is really deep and it's very awkward so I think we are going to have to think about how and what we are going to do until she gets bigger. She sat up fine but she is just so far at the end of your reach I don't like it. Plus it kills my back to bend over the side, I don't think I could lift her out when she is all slippery and wet. It's always something. Pudge seems to be doing better today. He limped off and on but his paw never bled.

Cammie and Aunt Ellis and Uncle Bruce

Today we met for lunch at Chilis in Bowie with Aunt Ellis and Uncle Bruce and Mom and Dad. It was great to see everyone and it was the first time that Cammie got her to meet her Great Aunt and Uncle. Just sorry the visit couldn't last longer but hopefully we will get to go to Charlottesville soon and spend some time there! When we got home Debbie the backup petsitter (Melissa's sister) was still at the house playing with the beasts so she got to see Cammie too, lots of new people today! Poor Pudge though, he must have a dark cloud over his head, he caught his dew claw on something in the yard and ripped it. He did the same thing on his back leg a few weeks ago on the steps, this time it's his front leg. UGH!! It bled a lot and you can tell it's sore but we wrapped it and put a sock on him, which you can tell he loves.

Anyway, we had a good day today, Cammie was very chatty and smiley at lunch and she played a lot when she got home. She faked me out at around 830 and fell asleep but she is up now sitting on my lap trying to put her two cents in. Will she ever sleep again? Stay tuned.......

Last night was bad, Cammie was in a party mood. I think she is cutting more teeth. She is so funny playing with her toys now, she squeals at them and "sings" to them. Pudge had to go to the vet today, he had to have what appears to be a cyst on his "man parts" biopsied. From what the vet said it seems to be similar to the lump that Max had on his elbow last summer and should go away on it's own but she couldn't be certain without the biopsy. It's always something! Poor Pudge. Not much else going on today.

Cammie is also quite the ham, she smiles pretty as soon as you point the camera at her!

I'm trying to get Cammie to stay asleep and so far have had no luck! She falls asleep and I get her into the crib and then she is wide awake about fifteen minutes later (if that). Ugh. She didn't nap much today either. She is starting to try to pull up on her toys and her crib rail, also she is leaning forward and trying to move towards things so we're thinking she is going to crawl soon. She rocks back and forth on her tummy and gets frustrated when she stays in the same place! She is so cute. She has also been squealing and imitating sounds lately. She is growing up so fast!!!

Whew, the past couple of days have sped by. Cammie spent some time with Sharon and Becca on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday I had to go to the bank and the post office and Cammie hung out with them and then Sharon fixed lunch while we watched the inauguration. Today I had a doctors appointment so they watched her for me again. Cammie seemed to enjoy herself, she was in a good mood when I got back and Sharon was too!! I told Cammie if she was cute and chatty she would be invited back! She is on a sleep protest again. Yikes! But has been eating up a storm. Speaking of, gotta go feed her now!

Saturday was a good day. Joe got called in to work and Cammie and I went to dinner at Donna and Bill's house. Joe was working at Lisbon so we stopped to see him on the way out there. Cammie liked seeing her Daddy at work! She was very smiley and cute to everyone! When we got to Donna's she was out with Andrew so Daniel held Cammie for me for a little bit and she really liked it. Then she got some quality time with Aunt Donna and Andrew. I think she even laughed at Paul a couple of times! Alice and Mike came but Meaghan, Rick and Emily were all no shows! We managed to make it through an evening without Cammie spitting up on Alice. She only really fussed a little bit and was basically happy to entertain everyone. She sat on Andrew's lap at dinner and we both fed her mashed potatoes and then cherry cheesecake for dessert. Daniel put his do-rag on her and I got some cute pics of that! She loved it, especially when he added the baseball cap. I guess she is going to be one of the boys! Joe B and Melissa got there just as we were leaving so we only got to see them for a few minutes. :o( When we got home the dogs were well taken care of by Melissa the pet sitter. I think we need to give some people some different names to avoid confusion!!

I went to the grocery store this morning and that was a big mistake. It was packed and it looked as though a blizzard was coming. The shelves were barren. Oh well. I got most of the stuff we needed, just had to put up with annoying people. Joe is gearing up to watch the Ravens game this evening. Cammie has been practicing her cheering all day. She was worn out last night after all the activity so she got a good night's sleep!

Yesterday I managed to keep the poo contained. YAY! It wasn't too bad. Cammie wasn't in the best of moods and she screamed every time I put her down. Joe came home from work and she was the perfect baby of course she didn't want to go to sleep. She finally fell asleep around 9 or so and then woke up several times. I finally put her bed with us around 130-2 and she was restless still but I got to nap some. She has been good today. She ate some breakfast and we have had no code browns today so we'll try some dinner. She is in the living room in her chair squealing and laughing. She is so freaking cute!!!

It is so cold out! We finally had to turn the heat on today. I think that is what the dogs were protesting about! :o) It just got too chilly and even with the heat on the fireplace still does a better job I think.

I hit the body fluid trifecta today with Cammie. She got me with the three P's and none of them were pretty. She pooed all over herself, her jumper seat and I got it all over me when I picked her up. The question I have is, how the heck do you clean that up? I cut her outfit off of her and stuck her in her tub but that grossed me out thinking of her sitting in pooey water so I wiped her off, cleaned the tub and then put her back in it, soaped her off and then rinsed her under the faucet. Am I putting too much thought into this? For the second p, puke, she did that all over herself and me when we were playing on the floor. The finale was my fault, I laid her in her crib to get her pjs and I took off her diaper and left her "exposed" which I rarely do because of the danger of the uncontained pee ESPECIALLY when I change her in her crib. So of course she peed all over the crib. UGH!!!!

By the way, Sharon: Big score with the blocks, she loves them! We played with them for a long time today AND you'll be pleased to know that Cammie taste tested each and every one and found them delightful.

Not much going on today. It's freaking cold outside!!! The dogs don't even want to go outside, they have been laying downstairs by the fireplace. I think they are drinking cocoa or toasting marshmallows or something. I don't care as long as they stop knocking me down the steps! My back, hip and leg are killing me! Cammie is in the living room in her jumper singing and playing the piano. She has been squealing all day. It's mostly amusing and cute. Some of the high pitched ones kind of get you for a second but then she gives you a big smile and all is forgiven. Her poor little legs are red from her shots but they don't seem to hurt her.

Had a good time playing with Becca today! She and Cammie exchanged Christmas presents also and Cammie got some really neat blocks to play with. The are soft so she can chew on them and she can build things too plus they have the alphabet on them with pics. Very neat!! Got a cute pic of Cammie and Becca to post also! I was going to go shopping with Sharon this afternoon but Cammie fell asleep about five minutes before she called and I didn't want to wake her up. I should have gotten out of the house because the dogs launched an attack. Clyde and Max were in front of me on the steps and Pudge was behind me and I made the mistake of saying Daddy would be home soon, so Pudge took me out on the steps. UGH. I tried to grab the railing. Tomorrow will be better I'm sure!

Cammie slept all night in her crib, just woke up a couple of times looking for her binky. I fed her at 730 and she is back to sleep! What did I do to deserve this??? I do want everyone to know that I'm looking out for them in this tough economic time so I found what is described as the perfect job on yahoo.com. Australia is looking for someone to live on an island on the Great Barrier Reef and be kind of a caretaker plus a tourism spokesperson. You have to live there for six months and it pays $105K. Islandreefjob.com Not that I'm implying that there are people out there that I wish would move away, I know there are some out there but I sincerely doubt they are reading this blog. :o) If they are you know who you are!!!

Anyway, not much planned for today, just going next door to stay with Becca for a little while so Sharon can go to the dentist. UGH! I need to do that as well.

Forgot to mention too that today on the way home from the doctors we stopped in to see Nana Robin and Pop. Cammie was pretty good, a little fussy from her shots but basically ok. She loves to see them and their little pug dog Rudy. Not much else happening this evening!

Cammie went for her 6 month check up today. YIKES! She weighs 18 pounds 4 ounces and is 27 1/4 inches tall. There was an 18 month little girl sitting in the waiting room and Cammie was as big as she was, if not bigger. She got five shots today, the four planned plus the flu shot and she has to go back in four weeks for the second flu shot. Ugh. Dr. K said she was doing very well and gave me some hints about her sleeping habits to try. Also she needs to eat MORE!! Formula at least. He said we could start the stage 2 baby foods and I told him we've been doing that for a couple of weeks! She just needs to drink a few more ounces of formula a day to make sure she is getting all her vitamins etc. I dread telling her that, I think she is ready to move on to steak!! Anyway, she is the most perfect baby ever (if you overlook the whole not sleeping, pooing thing) and we're going to try to keep her from getting whatever cootie is going around now. Ugh.

Wow, our social life really fell apart this week. We didn't go to that party, my Mom and Dad were supposed to come over today but Mom didn't feel well so they didn't. Joe isn't feeling his best either. We did do some cleaning this morning and then all of us took a nap this afternoon. That was very nice. Cammie has been doing a lot more independent play with her toys and it's really funny because she squeals and blows raspberries and makes all kinds of noises. It's hysterical. She is obviously gifted. ha ha. I am however looking for someone who is willing to change a poopy diaper or two throughout the day. With the addition of her food it has become quite disgusting. I can't believe I used to clean up after old people in the hospital and even bigger kids when I worked in the PICU. Ewwwww! Anyway, our other option is to start her back on just formula so the poo isn't as gross. Just kidding! Cammie goes for her six month checkup tomorrow so we will find out exactly how big she is and she gets four more vaccinations. Yikes!! Have to remember to preload her with Tylenol.

We were supposed to go to a surprise birthday party tonight for a guy Joe works with but decided not to because of Cammie. Ashley was going to watch her for us but we didn't want to be an hour away and have her freak out and start crying (Cammie not Ashley). Cammie still hasn't been sleeping much so she does have her mean moments but for the most part she has been in a very good mood. Although somewhat clingy. Not much else is going on, Joe is watching the Ravens game and Cammie is napping now. I started watching the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall but I didn't like it to much and lost interest. Poor Bailey was limping really badly last night but she seems to be better today. We think she just played too much yesterday. It's raining today so that may have been a factor too.

Last night we went to the Capital Grille at the Inner Harbor for the union dinner. It was tres fancy. :o) We had a lot of fun, I saw some people I hadn't seen in a looooong time. Plus Joe and I had a date night! We got to the harbor early and walked around the Best Buy store and then went across the street to Barnes and Noble and hung out there for a little bit until it was time to meet at the restaurant. Our waiter was funny, he told us a couple of stories about Michael Phelps and also how much the Ravens eat when they come in. Yikes!! Cammie stayed with Meaghan and gave her a hard time. She cried for a while after we left (Cammie not Meaghan) and then fell asleep for a little bit but then she started being cranky and mean after she woke up. UGH!!! Cammie fell asleep in the car on the way home but woke up when we brought her in the house and it was hard to get her to go back to sleep. Today we did a little shopping and went to TGI Fridays for lunch and Meaghan went with us. We just had some odds and ends that we needed to pick up. We had a very nice afternoon! Pudge was a little miffed that he had to go back in the crate today after being in there last night but he'll get over it when he realizes that his Daddy is off until Monday. Joe also took them for two walks today and this afternoon when he went he saw two bald eagles in the field at the end of the street. I heard there were some around but I haven't seen them. Of course I rarely have my contacts in so I wouldn't know if it was an eagle or a pigeon really.

Yesterday Cammie had her sleep protest again and she stayed up really late but it's 900 am now and she is still asleep so I really can't complain. She was laughing and smiling and squealing and blowing raspberries. She's obviously gifted. :o) Monday evening our pet sitter Melissa stopped by to meet Cammie and she was a charming hostess. Tonight we are going to Joe's union dinner and Cammie staying with Meaghan. I'm hoping she will be in a good mood. (Cammie not Meaghan). The dinner is at a restaurant at the Power Plant, hopefully it will stop raining by this evening. It's pretty disgusting out. Our backyard looks as though the bay came up into it.

Last night Cammie tried to eat us out of house and home. She must have been packing the food in her cheeks for sure! She did the same thing at lunch today, she has been less interested in her formula and much more interested in food that has some taste (well for what that is worth) and substance to it. Today has been kind of an icky day, we've been hanging out, now she is watching her sign language Baby Einstein DVD. She loves the BE DVDs alot. Nothing special planned for this evening, just waiting for Joe to get home from work!

We've had a pretty quiet weekend. Alice came over today and Cammie played with her and showed off her Christmas presents! Got the Christmas decorations put away and now someone just needs to come in and clean the house. Oh, that's me... crap. I wish I could shave the dogs to get rid of some of the dog hair but I don't think they would appreciate that and they might gang up on me again! Not too much going on right now, have a couple of social events scheduled for this week. I don't want to give away anything now or I won't have anything to post later! :o) Cammie is sitting up really well on her own now, although yesterday she was on her play mat and tipped over backwards and bumped her head and it was so loud on the floor! I know she was fine but it sounded like someone dropped a brick or something. She hasn't been real interested in sleeping again so that has been a treat although she is taking a good nap now. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Hope everyone had a good New Years! We slept through the midnight festivities, although that means it was pretty quiet in the neighborhood. Maybe the jerk with the fireworks in the court finally gave it up. He used to set them off to celebrate say a Wednesday night but it's been a while. YAY! Anyway, yesterday we did go to see Jenny to have Cammie's new car seat put in. Cammie seems to like it and she got to see Jenny and Dave O and the train garden at the fire house so it was a good trip. After that we went to a family dinner at Mommom and Poppop's (Cammie's great grandparents) with Mom, Dad, Gary, Michael, Debby, John and Jessica and of course Mommom and Poppop. It was really nice. Luckily we were in a private dining room because I decided to throw all of Cammie's puff snacks onto the floor and made a big mess. We played pass the baby, which seems to be big hit at get togethers now and Cammie fussed a little here and there but not too bad. She also ate all of my mashed potatoes. Such a little piggy, I guess that was payback for dropping her snacks. :o) Joe went to work for a little while this morning but is on his way home but he has to go back for ot tonight. Yay for the $$ boo for being away!
