Mommy's little helper (sort of)

Another yucky day today, it wasn't too chilly but just overcast in general and foggy. Cammie was just full of herself all day. No interest in taking a nap at all. We had fun though, she really likes watching the dogs run around in the yard. Joe has off tomorrow so hopefully I can out of my house arrest!! We have someone coming to look at our roof after lunch and then I have physical therapy at 4, hopefully they can do something to loosen up my neck and shoulder. Cammie is actually asleep now although I'm sure I've jinxed myself by admitting that. I'm going to chill out for a bit until Survivor comes on.

Can't stop me now!!

What the heck happened to spring?? Today was another dreary damp day. UGH. I still feel so weird not having a vehicle. Joe did come home early so I could go to physical therapy, I hate the initial visit because they always make you do all the moving and stuff and you hurt worse afterwards. The therapist gave me some home stretches to do and I have to go three times a week for a month. Such fun. Still no word about the guy who hit us. Our agent finally personally called Joe today but had nothing really to report.

Cammie slept most of last night in her own bed, she woke up when Joe was getting ready for work. When he checked on her when he got up she was laying on her stomach with her butt up in the air, which I think is funny. Not much else going on...

Even I think I'm cute!!!

Not much going on today, it was pretty nice out this afternoon so we chatted over the fence with Sharon and Becca. Cammie ran me ragged all day. Whew! We had a lot of fun though, she didn't want to go to sleep at all tonight, or maybe she just wanted to see who got voted off the Biggest Loser because she passed out right after that. Am I raising a reality chick or what??? The pups were happy since we spent some time outside, you know with them being labs and all they will chase the frisbee or ball until you get sick of throwing it. :o) No word from State Farm today, big surprise. Can't wait to go to PT tomorrow, I almost wish I could just go to a chiropractor and have him snap my neck for me. I'm crossing my fingers that Cammie stays asleep in her own bed tonight!! Good night!

So into Blue's Clues!!

We were going to go to Arundel Mills today but had to make an appointment for Sears to come fix the washing machine and of course they tell you they'll be there between 8 and 5. When Joe called this morning they said they'd be here late afternoon so like at 930 when we were just about to walk out the door the guy called and said he'd be here between 12 and 2. AAAHHH. At least he caught us before we left. AND he actually got here about 145. Naturally he has to come back.... UGH. So we just went to Lowes (the local nursery) <- plants not children, and got some things for the yard. We're trying to find some plants that will not appeal to Clyde's desire to eat our landscaping. Cammie had a really good day today, she was looking for Aunt Alice and Aunt Donna to feed her though!!! We had fun playing and she got to take a good nap with Daddy. He has to go back to work tomorrow so we're on our own. The body shop called and said that they were going to fix my car however they have no idea when or where to get the parts since the car is a 2009. So it could take weeks. They also need to get someone in to fix the drivers seat. What a pain!! We still haven't heard any word about the guy who hit us either. I made a physical therapy appointment for Wednesday because I can't take this stiff neck anymore, it's giving me a headache and making me dizzy (no comments from the peanut gallery!!!). Gotta go, going to see if I can get Cammie to go to sleep before The Big Bang Theory comes on. Wishful thinking on my part!!!!!

Um, excuse me, I'm in the tub!!!

Here's Cammie in her new big(ger) girl tub. I'm sure she will love this pic when she gets older and has her first boyfriend (when she's 40 at least). Anyway, we had a good weekend. Saturday we went to dinner with Mom and Dad and then Cammie stayed with them while we went to a surprise birthday party for Jamie. I saw some people I haven't seen in a while like Christine and Heather and Johnny. It was a lot of fun! I'm sure we left well before the real fun started though. When we got back to Mom and Dad's they said that Cammie wasn't real happy when we left but she finally wore herself out and fell asleep. She was asleep again before we got to Harford Road and slept all the way home.

Today was really pretty out, got to open the windows and air out some of the winter blahs. We went to dinner at Meaghan and Ricks. Alice, Mike, Donna and Bill were all there. We were supposed to have dinner last weekend but that was rudely interrupted when someone ran into our car! That was nice and yummy, Cammie had a lot to eat, Alice made apple sauce which was a big hit and there were mashed potatoes and Cornish game hens with cheesecake for dessert (and of course biscuits). Cammie sampled everything and loved it all. I was not so happy when she threw up on me a little while ago though. Bleahhhhh

Joe is off tomorrow so we'll do something fun, hopefully it will be nice out and hopefully we will hear something from the insurance company. I'm going to go ahead and schedule my physical therapy because my neck and shoulder have been killing me (they hurt worse than my low back which is really saying something!)

NEED HELP!!

I want to enter Cammie in another contest (stupid Regis and Kelly). It's for the cover of Babytalk magazine. I need to pick a pic from the last month that show her cuteness and personality. I'm leaning towards the one in the blue princess pj's but I would like some input!! The contest just started and ends May 31 so help me pick a picture of my little cutie!! (I know I'm biased but everyone keeps telling me how cute she is too!!!)

I can't eat the grass because......

This pic was from last Sunday when it was nice out. Got out of the house to run some errands this morning and get my hair cut. Joe had fun dealing with State Farm again today. They called about the medical issues and wanted to know if Cammie was complaining of pain anywhere. When he told them she was only 8 months old they said they thought she was 8 years old. Then they also said that the guy who hit us told them that he had so many vehicles (for his business I guess) that he MAY have given the wrong insurance info to the police and he would call them with the correct info. OK, it's been a week, do they really think he is going to call? Are these people for real? I probably could have told them that Santa and his reindeer flew into us and they'd be like oh, just make sure you get your car out of the impound lot as soon as you can. Duty's (the body shop) did get my car in to look at it today, Joe talked to one of the guys this afternoon and he said there was some pretty significant damage underneath so I've got my fingers crossed.

I have found the pots and pans!!!

Disregard our ugly cabinets, we plan on getting a new kitchen! Cammie had no trouble at all finding the cabinets that she wanted and she loved getting all the pots and pans out. We stick the potatoes under there too and she pulls that bag out as well. What a rainy gross day today! Where is spring??? Of course I had no plans to go anywhere today but because I don't have a car I have this uncontrollable urge to just go somewhere!! I feel like I'm grounded or something! Cammie and I did have fun playing today and she had chicken pot pie for dinner which she liked a lot. Big surprise, I know, she liked her food! You can hardly see the bump on her head which makes me feel better! Poor little thing, she's had a rough few days. Joe is off now until Tuesday and we have some plans this weekend so that should be nice. Oh- about the song on the blog, I chose it because Cammie likes it, she waves her arms in the air and wiggles around, shaking her booty! It's funny. I guess we'll be sending her to Uncle Gary for dance lessons at some point!!! Hopefully she'll have better rhythm than mommy!

It's been a busy couple of days. Yesterday Sharon highlighted my hair for me and she did a great job. I think she should go pro. hee hee. I wish I could return the favor but I'm not good at things like that. Today we had to take Cammie to the doctor. UGH! She crawled over to our tv stand and just as I was getting up to move her away from it she slipped and hit her head on the edge of the shelf. It bruised up right away and she was screaming! She did stop as soon as I picked her up though which made me feel better. She also let me put some ice on it which helped alot but we wanted to take her to the doctor because of her being in the accident on friday. I felt a little silly taking her to the doc for a bump but I'd rather err on the side of caution and Dr. K is very understanding. He also is very cool with Joe and my background so he seems to really respect our input (especially when he found out I used to work in the PICU). Of course it's been years since my peds knowledge was fresh but oh well.... We went down to see Chris and Julie, Ashley, Kristen and Cassidy this evening too. They were glad to see Cammie although when we left her for a couple of minutes with the girls she cried which surprised me.

Nothing to report with the accident except State Farm is really disappointing us!

I promise I will download some new pics later or tomorrow! The past couple of days have been pretty miserable. Cammie is doing really well, she doesn't seem to have any problems from the accident. I called the pediatrician today and he said as long as she was doing OK we didn't need to bring her in but to call if we had any concerns. She has her 9 month check up coming up soon anyway. I'm so relieved she is OK though, I can't even express how much. I'm doing alright I guess as long as I take the meds they gave me in the ER. My lower back hurts, as does my neck. I can hardly turn it at all plus my knee and ankle and shoulder. The whole insurance thing has been a royal pain too. Now we are wondering if the guy who hit us is insured. His tags were expired and when Joe talked to the company today (State Farm) they said they couldn't find him in their records, plus the girl was really rude to Joe and acted like we should know exactly what to do, like this happens regularly. I got in touch with the lawyer's office that I used for my work comp case and he is going to handle things for us which is a relief. I have an appointment with my regular doctor tomorrow so hopefully he can send me to some therapy or something.

On a happier note, Cammie found some more food that she likes! Joe made meatloaf last night for dinner and she scarfed it right up along with her fave mashed potatoes. We had leftovers of it tonight and she was just as happy to eat a pretty big portion of it again! Such a big girl! She was so not interested in playing with her toys today, she wanted to crawl up and down the hallway. Good for her, not so much for me.

I want to play!!!

Well Cammie and I were having a good day yesterday until the evening. We went out to Donna's to see her and the new puppy and Joe B was going to service my car for me. Which he did and it turned out to be a waste of time as was the full tank of gas I got before we left to go home. Prior to that, Donna and I had taken Cammie to Denny's for lunch and she had a great time being social with everyone she saw. We left and made it all the way to Ritchie Highway in Arnold when traffic stopped and I looked in the rearview mirror and realized that the guy in the van behind us wasn't going to stop. That quickly he slammed into us and somehow hit us twice. My seat broke and I hit the dash but my first concern was Cammie. When the seat broke it pushed her car seat to the side and she had been asleep but the impact and the bang woke her up and she was screaming. I was hysterical by this point, I was trying to calm her down but I didn't want to pick her up in case she was hurt, I was trying to call 911 and tell them where I was, my glasses got knocked off and I couldn't see the street signs. It was a mess. Luckily two guys that said they were volunteers stopped right away and the ambulance got there really quickly. I started freaking out again when they separated us but they kept telling me that Cammie was ok. They took us both to AAMC and Joe had gotten to the scene before the ambo left with Cammie so he got to see her. The ER was packed but they put us both in fast track and took me to xray after they checked Cammie out and said she was ok. When I came back Alice, Meaghan and Rick had all gotten there and were with Joe and Cammie. We finally got discharged around 9pm and I just have spasms and pain everywhere and my left knee is bruised. Of course my back and neck are killing me but that's to be expected. I also must have jammed my left arm because my shoulder, elbow and wrist are really sore too. What a nightmare!! I am so glad Cammie is ok. Joe spent the morning dealing with the insurance company. My Mom and Dad came over today on their way home from Cambridge and we had a nice visit with them. I wasn't very good company though. Going to chill out now!!

Really into this book!!

GO TERPS!!!! Hopefully Morgan will do well also! The Villanova/ American game was really good, wasn't sure that V was going to pull it off and that would have really screwed up my picks!!

Anyway, kind of bleary day today, and not much going on... except...

Today was kind of rough, Cammie was all over the place. We had a lot of fun playing but now that she can crawl sometimes I have trouble keeping up with her! I don't get the whole nap boycott either, then she didn't want to fall asleep tonight. She is laying in our bed finally sacked out, I'll move her into her crib once I'm sure she is really out. It was funny today, we have one of those posters of Cal Ripken that says Perseverance on it and he is like waving his hand, when Cammie came into the office she was looking at it and then she started waving to him. I thought it was cute.

Cammie is Wii Fit!!

It was so nice out this afternoon. This morning it was really foggy going across the bridge but it cleared off. Cammie and I picked up Meaghan and we went to Walmart and Kohls. We tried to go see Alice but she was at lunch. Then we had lunch at ChikFilA. YUM. Cammie liked the chicken too. She really was too busy to eat since she was flirting with everyone around us and listening in on conversations (she's so nosy!!). On our way home after dropping Meaghan off we stopped to see Nanny Robin and Pop. They were glad to see Cammie who was a little fussy at first. She cheered up once she got to play with their little pug dog Rudy. Then we came home to free our beasts and spent some time in the yard with them. Cammie likes to watch them chase their toys and run around. When she was eating dinner I swear she said Mama but it may have been a combo of her eating noise and saying Baa Baa but I think it counts!! When she took an after dinner nap I spent some more time outside with the pups who were really glad to be outside. Everyone seemed to have a good day!

Cammie slept all night the last two nights in her OWN crib!! I couldn't believe it. I only got up a few times to give her the Binky. Today she didn't have such a great day, I think her teeth are bothering her and she just fell asleep so we'll see if she stays put. Tomorrow is supposed to be really nice and we are meeting Meaghan to go shopping for a bit. The dogs will be upset to go in the crates though. You just can't win! I wanted to mention too that through facebook I've gotten in touch with a couple of friends from middle school!! I'm sure my mom remembers Raina and Beth! Also a couple of friends from high school and sadly the one person that I stayed friends with a few years out of high school and then lost touch with- Anita!! So that's been pretty cool to see what everyone has been doing for the past XX years. I don't want to say how long it's been! Yikes!
