Can't believe it's New Year's Eve already! We are just hanging out at home. We did get sushi takeout for dinner as a treat. Earlier Joe's friend Roger stopped by and I took Cammie to see Pop and Nana Robin. Cammie cried and fussed but I think she was tired because she fell asleep for a power nap and when she woke up she was much friendlier. It is really cold again and very windy. The guy with the giant inflatable snowman took it down today, or else it blew away and is wandering the neighborhood. Scary!!! Trying to arrange to get Cammie's car seat changed so I don't have to lug around the carrier. It is also a pain getting it in and out of the car. I can barely do it anymore. Sorry I don't have any fancy NYE plans to wow you all with. Our big resolution is to lose some weight and get in shape. I'm a little disappointed when I see the stars in the magazines who have had babies and are in better shape than before. Although if I had a trainer and a chef and staff to tell me what to do I'd look awesome too. I'd settle for a massage therapist to come in once in a while!! Anyway, Happy New Year, be safe if you are out partying!

Had an ok day yesterday, Cammie really likes playing with her new toys and things that she got for Christmas. We had to run some errands yesterday and everyone kept saying how cute she was, of course she was in full on social mode, smiling and flirting. When she is in the car she likes to toss her binky across the seat so you can't reach it to give it back. That's always fun. Hopefully we will have a good day today!!

Sunday, December 28, 2008

Today we had a quiet day at home. We think Cammie might be catching a cold or just not feeling well. Not much going on, Joe gave the stinky dogs a bath and then took them for a walk to dry off. They all seemed to enjoy their bath so they must have felt they needed it. With all this weather changing they are shedding like crazy. Hope everyone had a good weekend and is recovering nicely from Christmas and getting ready for New Years!!

Saturday, December 27, 2008

Cammie slept really good last night, she didn't even wake up for an evening snack! Of course I didn't sleep more than an hour or so. It figures!!! Joe got off work this morning and we went to Hampstead to Dave Angelo's brunch. It was nice, although the only other person that I knew there besides Dave was Mike Faith. Cammie was very flirty and smiley the whole time. She got a tiny bit fussy when she got hungry and then right before we left because she was tired. We had a good time even though it was a loooong drive out there. Cammie and I both fell asleep on the way home. Joe and I tried out the Wii tonight, I think it's going to take a bit for the dogs to get used to. Plus it will be better when we can set it up in the basement where there is more room. Max and Clyde were freaked out by it and Pudge kept wanting to jump around. Bailey wasn't sure what the heck was going on. Hopefully they will get used to it. Cammie fell asleep already tonight so hopefully we will have a good night, she seems to be getting on a schedule now as far as eating and sleeping.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!! We sure did. Cammie had a good night's sleep on Christmas eve and woke up her usual cheery self. My Mom and Dad came over Christmas morning and got to watch and help Cammie open all her presents. She liked tearing the wrapping paper off and trying to stick it in her mouth. Her eyes would get even bigger and her jaw would drop. Too cute!!! We had breakfast and Poppop got to cuddle Cammie while she took a little nap. At lunchtime we headed out to Donna and Bill's, that was a packed house as usual, with Donna, Bill, Andrew, Paul, Daniel, Joe, Melissa, Alice, Mike, Emily, Matthew, Meaghan, Rick, Michael, Donna and Erin. Cammie did pretty well, she had a couple of crying bouts but got over them pretty quickly. She looked so pretty in her dress that Alice got for her, the little dressy shoes didn't last long! She pulled them off and tried to stick them in her mouth. We all had a great day and by the time we got home all of us crashed! Melissa the petsitter had come to let the dogs out and Max misbehaved by not coming in the house when she was ready to leave so he was out in the yard when we got home. He wasn't any worse for the wear so I'm not sure what his deal was. Cammie had a good night last night and her and I have been hanging out today playing with her toys. Cassidy and her friend came over to bring some things I left at Chris and Julie's the other night when we had to make our escape and Cammie was all smiley and giggling with them. Joe went to work overtime today at Station 9, hopefully he won't have a terrible night tonight! I'm going to try to post pics from yesterday tonight.

Merry Christmas Eve! We went visiting today to see Uncle Gary and then a quick visit to Mommom and Poppop. Cammie looked so cute in her sassy Santa outfit. When we got home Kristin stopped by to tell us that Chris and Julie were having some people over tonight and that we should come. We tried to but Cammie had other ideas. She was fine until Julie took her sweatshirt off! Then she started crying (Cammie not Julie) and wouldn't stop so we had to leave. They didn't ask us to or anything but we felt bad for Cammie. :o) I guess the girls will never babysit for us again! Cammie was tired so I think that was the main problem.
Lynn gave us the cutest cake and a bag to open tomorrow! Cammie got some cute outfits from Uncle Gary and there is a ton of presents to open in the morning after Santa comes!!! Mommom and Poppop are coming over to have Christmas morning with us so it should be fun! Now if Cammie would just go to sleep!!! She seems to have gotten a second wind. I'll definitely have pictures to post after tomorrow, I have a bunch already! She is dressed in little elf PJ's and is so cute if I do say so myself! Hope everyone has a great holiday! xoxoxoxox

Monday, December 22, 2008

It was so windy last night that our power went out for over four hours. It was fricking cold!! Cammie had woken up around midnight and drank a bottle and then stayed up until after 2. I had just gotten her to go back to sleep and laid down in bed and everything went off. I definitely can't fall asleep when it is soooo quiet so I was screwed. After about an hour it started to get chilly. We had the wood stove going but the blower is electric, so while it was warm and cozy downstairs, upstairs not so much. We managed to make it through and the house is warming up nicely. (We still haven't turned out heat on yet) I did go up to the Outlets to see if I could find a cute outfit for Cammie to wear on Christmas eve and that place was packed and it was freezing outside. I found something for her in Gymboree, Carters already had their Valentines, St Patty's day and summer clothes out. I'll have pics of that after Christmas.

Saturday, December 20, 2008

Brisk day out there today. We stayed home and did some stuff around the house and hung out with Cammie. She had a good night last night. She woke up a few times just looking for her Binky but went back to sleep on her own. She has also taken a few naps today, although she is still awake now and doesn't seem to want to go back to bed. Of course I am sleepy now and will have missed my window to fall asleep by the time she gets tired again. UGH!!! The Travel Channel had a bunch of Disney shows on today so we watched them and found out some stuff we didn't know and stuff to look for next time we go. Max ran out of the yard today but he came right back, causing me to only have a mild heart attack. There were a bunch of people outside because the volunteer "firefighters" brought Santa around and I guess Max thought he should be a reindeer or something. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!! :o)

Friday, December 19, 2008

Last night it was hard to get Cammie to get to and stay asleep. I don't know where she gets all her energy. She also wakes up all smiley and cute. That is so NOT from me. Last night she managed a neat trick after her bottle, I turned her towards me to burp her and she managed to spit up down my sweatshirt. It completely missed the front of me and went down my shirt. Then she laughed. Hmmmm She may be in cahoots with the dogs. Joe got some quality cuddle time with her today. It was a very gross and rainy day so we just hung out and watched TV. Not much else going on. I can't believe Christmas is next week.

Thursday, December 18, 2008

It's been a rough couple of days!! Aside from my back killing me, Cammie has been on an anti sleep campaign. Tuesday night she woke up around midnight and didn't go back to sleep until about 3. Wednesday she hardly napped at all and it took her until about 10 to fall asleep, then around midnight she woke up screaming and crying. So loud it woke up Joe! We put her in bed with us and she fell back to sleep but I kept making sure she was ok. Today we went shopping for a little bit with Meaghan and she cat napped here and there but was basically awake the whole time. She is in the living room now squealing and chatting to herself. She is so cute, even when she won't sleep! I'm trying to keep her awake now so hopefully she will sleep tonight. We are trying to learn sign language from the Baby Einstein dvd and from another dvd and book I got so that has been interesting. Of course I have to learn it first, but it hasn't been so bad so far. We know a few people who have done that with their kids and it helped them a lot.

Tuesday, December 16, 2008

Another rainy day!!! The day started out good, Lynn and I took Cammie to breakfast at Cracker Barrel. YUM! Of course everyone stopped to say how cute Cammie was. Well not everyone but a couple of people did. I finally found out what the dogs were plotting to do to me, I think they are trying to take me out! and not in a good way. I was going out to get a piece of wood to put on the fire and I had Clyde's Frisbee in my hand to get it out of the house because it was wet and he thought I was going to play and ran right into my legs and knocked me on my butt. It happened so quick I didn't know what to think. Of course he is so sensitive when you yell at him he gets scared. Pudge tried to make it all better by licking my face while I was trying to get up but then when I was in Cammie's room laying her in the crib for a nap I stepped back and Pudge was laying right there and I tripped over him and hit my head on her dresser. Hopefully Cammie's first words won't be $h!t, F***, or d@@@ or any combination thereof. So.... my back is killing me more so than usual and my head hurts and my hip does too. It's a good thing I love my dogs! If not Clyde would be on a bus to Uncle Gary's house!

Monday, December 15, 2008

Yesterday we went to Donna's to help make sugar cookies with Donna, Alice, Meaghan, Emily and Melissa. Meaghan and I rode out together with Cammie and Joe brought the dogs out in his truck. Cammie liked watching everything and then licking the lids to the sprinkles. The dogs had a great time playing with their lab cousins Maggie, Mabel and Lucy and Melissa and Joe's puppy Bella who was very cute. (She is a boxer). For some reason Clyde was terrified of Bella. As Uncle Gary says, Clyde is special. The dogs are still worn out today (yay).
Cammie, in true diva form, has gone through more wardrobe changes today than Mariah Carey. We've also had an explosion of bodily functions. Gross! She ruined her pj's this morning with a code brown and she has spit up several times. Not a lot just enough to bypass the bib. Except at lunch, that was pretty nasty. But that also bypassed the bib and went on the pants and high chair. So that's been my day, try not to envy me too much.
:o)

Saturday, December 13, 2008

I read something the other day that said that babies need up to 18 hours of sleep and I had to laugh (so I wouldn't cry). I tried explaining this to Cammie at 2 this morning but she was not interested. She isn't fussy, just awake. She doesn't want to nap for very long either. I on the other hand finally start to get tired just as she wakes up. Bleahhhhh.... Her tooth is coming in and hasn't really seemed to bother her much after the initial discomfort. Not much else has been happening, just hanging out.

Wednesday, December 10, 2008

My poor little bunny!! Last night she got so upset she cried from about 6 til she passed out at like 830-9ish. I tried oragel on her tooth, tylenol, the little cold toys to chew on, rubbing her gums, you name it I tried it. After about 45 minutes I was crying with her. It was terrible. Once she fell asleep she seemed to do pretty well during the night and this morning I put some oragel on her gum to try to ward off that pain. She seems to be in a better mood. (Thank goodness!) Of course Joe was at a meeting last night so he missed the hysterics (Cammie's and mine).

Tuesday, December 9, 2008

This whole email thing has been a giant pain. But anyway, Cammie is getting her first tooth!! She's taking it well so far, she just doesn't want to go to sleep but I got her some oragel today so maybe that will help. I don't know if the sleep thing and the tooth thing are related, she slept well last night but as far as naps she wasn't interested and she did fight going to sleep at bedtime. She doesn't want to miss anything, I wish she would realize that when it gets dark out, there is nothing going on to miss. There's hardly anything going on during the day! :o) We did go visit Nana Robin and Pop today. Ms. Robin was really glad to see Cammie who fussed at her (I think because of her tooth!). It was a nice visit otherwise. Not much else going on.....

My new email address is sgouldin@atlanticbb.net If we email back and forth please email me your address so I can save it! Thanks!!!

Sunday, December 7, 2008

I think it's safe to assume that winter is officially here. WOW it's cold outside! Joe worked a 24 hour shift yesterday and last night I think I had to refill the fireplace at least three times. It's doing a good job of heating the upstairs too, we still haven't had to turn on our heat yet. Cammie and I had a girls day yesterday, we read and played and did our nails etc. Well I filed her nails, she keeps scratching her face no matter how often I file them! She had her best night's sleep ever last night while I managed to get maybe an hour in. Ugh!! She even took a nap from about 10 to 1 this morning. I managed to get maybe 30-45 minutes of that. This is so frustrating. Oh, the other night her baby monitor was picking up another baby crying and that was weird, I heard crying so naturally I got up to check on her and she was sound asleep but the crying continued. Kind of freaky. She did get some quality time with Daddy today so that was nice for both of them. Of course she fell asleep before the Ravens game came on so they didn't get to watch that together but I think they caught a game on earlier.

Friday, December 5, 2008

Joe had off today so we finished Christmas shopping with a trip to Toys R Us. Yikes! What's wrong with the economy? That place was packed.
Just FYI to anyone who emails me, my yahoo account was hacked into and my login info was changed so I can't access it anymore. To make a long story short, my email address stacygouldin@yahoo.com is no good anymore and I will be changing it. As soon as I get a new one I'll post it on here so hopefully people can email me their email address because all that is gone as well. Or you can leave your email address in the comments section here and I'll add it. What a pain in the @$$!!
Hope everyone has a great weekend and stay warm! Big kisses from Cammie!!!

Thursday, December 4, 2008

Not much going on today. Emily and Meaghan came by to pick up a couple of things Emily left in the attic and to bring Cammie her Christmas dress from Aunt Alice. It is so pretty! No pics until Christmas!!! So don't ask! :o) We did try it on her to make sure it would fit and it does and she can even gain a couple holiday lbs and still wear it. Cammie and I are having an ok day, we spent some time outside with the pups this morning playing with them. Everyone seemed to enjoy that. Last night it was so funny, Joe was exhausted so he wanted to go to bed and I was ready to lie down but Cammie was ready to party. (Of course it was only like 8pm). But anyway, Cammie was lying next to me and wiggling around so I whispered "sshhh Daddy's sleeping" and she started her belly laugh and then squealed and she did it every time I said it. It was so cute and funny. Hope everyone is having a great day!!

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

Well I guess the dogs didn't forgive me for being crated yesterday. They were outside on their own for a little while and when I looked out to check on them they were sitting in a circle under the tree in the back. That made me suspicious, and to be honest a little nervous. I know they talk about me when I can't hear them. :o) Anyway, after I got out of the shower I found Clyde with one of Cammie's stuffed dragonflies from her bouncy seat in his mouth and Max was devouring a tiny stuffed Koala from her other chair. I still can't find the other dragonfly so I'm sure Clyde ingested it. Then when I was feeding Cammie her dinner, 1 jar of sweet potatoes and 1 jar of pears YIKES, I heard some jingling which I thought was one of the dogs walking by the tree but then Max walked in with her toy zebra in his mouth. Luckily it was only wet with doggie spit and I can clean that off. The zebra was in her diaper bag so he had to root around in there for it. They have been really good with her toys until today. Guess a trip to Petsmart is indicated for some new doggie toys (nothing stuffed of course). I have a pic to post of Cammie in her Christmas onesie, I put it on her after her bath because even though it is a 6-9 month it may not make it until her first diaper change. I had to wrestle her into it. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get the pics on, provided there are no episodes with the dogs. :o)

Tuesday, December 2, 2008

Even though I usually need a day or so to recover from going to the grocery store, I decided to get my Target shopping done today. Lynn went with me and we had a good time. Cammie was very good and very interested in the toys and clothes. The only thing she didn't like was when we were in the bathroom changing her and someone turned on the dryer, she started crying after that. I think it was just loud and something she hadn't heard. I'm exhausted though and will definitely need some time to recover. The dogs were a little miffed that they had to go in the crate again today but I think they forgave me. Christmas shopping is a little overwhelming, there is so much stuff to look at that I don't have the slightest idea where to even start. I did find a few things at Target and I think we are going to go to Toys R Us on Friday when Joe is off. Looking at all the cool toys and gadgets they have out now, I wonder what we played with when we were little. Especially all the educational toys that start early, it's a wonder we can even read or count. :o)

Monday, December 1, 2008

Another not so exciting day. It was much nicer outside though. I was supposed to have a doctors appointment so Lynn said she would watch Cammie for me so I could go to that and then go to the grocery store. My appointment got cancelled so I just went to the store, I got all the way there and realized I forgot my wallet. UGH. Luckily I realized it in the parking lot before I went in. Cammie helped me finish decorate the Christmas tree tonight and we put out some decorations. Trying to make the house look a little festive! The dogs are funny, they look at the tree like what the heck is that? and then they lay under it. I feel so disorganized these days, everyone says you get mommy brain and I think that is true. Cammie sends lots of smooches to everyone!

Sunday, November 30, 2008

What a disgusting rainy day today. Joe had to work yesterday and got home this morning, so we just kind of chilled out for the morning since I was up most of the night too. In the afternoon he got the Christmas stuff out and I started decorating the tree. Cammie was so funny watching me unwrap ornaments, her eyes would get so big and she would smile. We had some good play time today. This damp weather makes my back hurt worse but what doesn't? We moved the tv up into the living room and it makes it seem so small in there. We're going to do some reorganizing after Christmas. Cammie watched some football with Joe but it was really funny when we were watching part of the Maryland/Georgetown basketball game, she couldn't take her eyes off the tv. Joe thinks it was because she liked the squeaks of the sneakers. Our little sports fan!!

Happy Thanksgiving! Gobble Gobble!

Started out the day right with breakfast at Cracker Barrel! Yum! Sorry Lynn, I know I promised not to go without you but I didn't think you wanted a call at 730 this morning. We did go with Chris and we got a table right away but had to wait a bit for the food. Which was fine since it was really good. This afternoon we went to Meaghan and Rick's for Thanksgiving dinner and it was a packed house, Emily, Matthew, Alice, Mike, Donna, Bill, Andrew, Paul, Daniel, Joe and Melissa and of course Meaghan and Rick. Cammie copped quite the attitude and yelled for a long time. She has never been so upset. She even threw up a couple of times because she had gotten herself so worked up. After a wardrobe change and a nap on Aunt Donna (poor Aunt Alice, I need to start bringing an extra shirt for her too along with Cammie's stuff!) she was in a much better mood (Cammie not Donna). Dinner was really good. Meaghan cooked a turkey and we did a smaller deep fried one that turned out pretty good. I've never had one cooked like that and we both liked it a lot. Finally got Cammie to settle down and fall asleep, hopefully after all that she'll sleep through the night!
Hope everyone had a great day!

Wednesday, November 26, 2008

Had a slow start to the day today, Cammie had a good nights sleep but also took a looong nap this morning. The naps are good with me since I still am having trouble sleeping at night, partly because my back hurts I think. I mean I know my back hurts. Anyway, this afternoon we went next door to hang out with Sharon and Becca. That was fun. Cammie played with some blocks and cuddled with Sharon and was mostly friendly until she realized she was tired. So she took a power nap on Sharon's lap. Got some cute pics I'll post in the next couple of days. Then it was home for some dinner and quality time with Daddy! He went downstairs to watch the news so I may have to go wake him up to go to bed. He knows you can't go to bed tired! When Cammie doesn't take an afternoon nap (or doesn't take a very long one) I feel bad because she goes to bed earlier and then Joe doesn't get to see her much when he gets home, because he's tired from getting up so early. Luckily he is off for the next few days so we'll get some good family time in. We definitely have to do something with the dogs, I think they are feeling neglected. Pudge will be very happy that his best pal will be home for a few days!

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

Not much going on around here, just gearing up for Thanksgiving. Joe spent most of the weekend working outside and of course keeping the house clean is a job and a half. Cammie has been entertaining us both. She is eating much better and enjoying herself more I think. Right now she is laying in her crib making smacking noises. I think it's funny. She sends lots of smooches to all her fans!

Sunday, November 23, 2008

I really don't like winter! The cold makes my back hurt worse. Poor Joe spent most of the day splitting wood for the fireplace so his back is bothering him also. He did take time out to watch the Ravens game with Cammie. Other than that we didn't do much today. I needed a day to recover from all of the excitement yesterday. I know that's pitiful isn't it? Cammie had a big dinner tonight. She ate a jar of peas and half a jar of bananas (I have to say that is the most disgusting of all the baby food items to me so far, although the peas didn't invoke the best image) and a whole little bottle of apple juice. She seems quite pleased with herself. I can't bring myself to taste any of the baby food but as I said the bananas and peas have to be the least appetizing so far. And I like both of those things, the carrots and sweet potatoes don't bother me and I don't like cooked carrots or sweet potatoes. I guess if I was a "good" mom I'd break out the food processor and make all of her food from organic veggies that I lovingly hand washed in organic eco friendly soap and dried with sustainable material towels, then I could change her cloth diapers and .... well if I was a bird I'd chew the food for her and that ain't happening either. :o) Hope everyone had a good weekend. Stay warm!!! Cammie sends her love and big smooches to everyone!

Saturday, November 22, 2008

Social day today! Cammie and I went to see her Mommom and Poppop and then we met Uncle Gary and Uncle Michael and Cammie's great Grandparents for lunch. We had a really nice visit with my Mom and Dad. Cammie got have her Poppop play the guitar for her, she really liked that. We went to Bateman's for lunch and had a lot of laughs. Uncle Gary almost made me spew pepsi out of my nose. Cammie slept through most of the outrageous and inappropriate at times conversation. On my way home I stopped by to see Debbie and Steve for a couple of minutes. Luckily Debbie went back to regular duty so hopefully I will get to see her more often now that she is back on shift work. When we got home the pups had been visited by the petsitter Melissa who is awesome so they were quite happy. I'm exhausted though! Tomorrow I think we're just going to hang out and work more on getting the house organized.

Friday, November 21, 2008

It's blustery and snowy outside today! Joe had off so we took Cammie to Teddy Time at the library. Which is like story time but it's nursery rhymes and stuff for babies and no craft project obviously. It was cute. There were two other babies there. Then we went to the grocery store for milk and toilet paper, just kidding although we did need milk. Not much else exciting going on. I stepped on Pudge's foot and I'm not sure he has forgiven me yet. I'll be paying for that for a while. At least Joe was home and witnessed it so Pudge didn't have to wait all day and then limp when Daddy got home to let him know he had been "injured".

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

It's beginning to feel a lot like winter. Ugh. Thank goodness for the woodstove, we still haven't had to turn the heat on yet. We did get a little heater to put in Cammie's room and we have one in our bedroom so that helps too. Of course four dogs in the room also generates quite a bit of heat as well. Someone should look into that.... Cammie and I had a good day. Lynn stopped by to see us and then we did a little shopping with Sharon. Cammie is turning into quite the savvy shopper and she doesn't scream in the stores anymore. Yay! She also is doing so good eating, of course now the added challenge is trying to get the spoon around her foot that she is also trying to stuff in her mouth. Yikes!

Tuesday, November 18, 2008

I can't believe how excited Cammie gets when she eats now. She squeals and laughs. I guess it has to be better than formula all the time. That stuff smells so gross. Of course it takes a while to clean off her chins and cheeks, that is a two person job at best. But she always looks so pleased with herself. She's very funny. She is also getting better at entertaining herself with her toys when she is in the playpen or crib which is nice. I would love to hold her all the time but sometimes I would like to go to the bathroom or get something to eat too! Joe and I have been eating dinner at the kitchen table instead of downstairs in front of the TV and Cammie sits either in her swing or high chair and provides entertainment for us while we eat!

Monday, November 17, 2008

Cammie is definitely getting the hang of this eating thing. She had cereal with apple juice this morning, which oddly didn't go over as well as the orange veggies. Then she took a good nap. I had a doctors appointment this afternoon so Cammie went and stayed with Chris until Kristin and Cassidy got home from school and Ashley got home from work. Cammie was asleep when I got back and the girls said she was a little fussy until they put her in front of the mirror (vain!!). Chris wasn't there so I don't know how he made out with Cammie for the hour or so they hung out. Hopefully she didn't traumatize him too much!!!

Saturday, November 15, 2008

What a weird day. It started out rainy and icky and then got warm and gorgeous out, then we had a torrential downpour. I guess it will snow next. Cammie had a pretty good night last night. I only got up to give her the binky a few times and she slept til about 7 this morning. I swear she wakes up in a great mood, all smiles and giggles. She does NOT get that from me. This afternoon she ate a whole jar of sweet potatoes. I was apprehensive about giving them to her after the fiasco Alice had but she loved it. She was attacking the spoon and everything. Of course when we were done it looked like a scene out of Jaws. She was covered in it, somehow she got it under the bib. I also had them all over me from the lady like sneeze that sprayed me. When she was done, she drank about an ounce of apple juice gave a dainty burp and asked what was next on the menu.
I think I fixed the comment thing so that if anyone has anything to add you should be able to. Also please click on the google ads for me. I think I get like a penny every time someone clicks on them, then four years later when it adds up to 100 bucks they send you a check. So far I think we've made $2.16. woo hoo!!! Have a great weekend!!!!!

Friday, November 14, 2008

Today was another gross day outside. The poor dogs are ready to revolt. Or move to a drier climate. Since Cammie had 2 successful days of eating her oatmeal I tried a spoonful of carrots (baby food really looks and smells unappetizing), she ate that with minimal difficulty and then kept opening her mouth so I gave her another spoonful (I mean an adult sized spoonful in baby spoon portions). She ended up just about finishing the jar. Of course she was covered in orange goo but she really seemed to like the carrots. Yay! Hopefully she will get the hang of this eating thing because you would think the poor child is starving when she drinks her bottle. Of course all you have to do is look at the little chunky monkey to see that isn't true!
No big plans for the weekend, just hanging out trying not to spend money. Although we do need groceries. (chocolate)

Thursday, November 13, 2008

I thought last night would be a good night because Cammie didn't take much of any naps during the day and she stayed awake until about 8. I laid her on our bed so I could brush my teeth and she fussed at me for a couple of minutes and then stopped. I looked at her and she was sound asleep and didn't move when I put her in her crib. That lasted until maybe 11. At midnight she was hungry and didn't want to go back to bed after eating. Then when she finally did she woke up about every hour or so. UHHHH! She did allow me to take a nap this morning before we went to story time. We weren't going to go since it is pouring out and Sharon and Becca weren't going but I remembered I had library books due today so we braved the downpour. Cammie seemed to enjoy story time as usual although some little germy boy with a runny nose kept trying to touch her hand. He was really cute if you overlooked the river of snot. I managed to keep my freakout to a minimum until I could get a wipe to clean off whatever he may have touched. I know she is going to get sick eventually and we have survived two head colds already but I'm not looking to invite trouble you know. On the way home from the library we stopped to see Ms. Robin and Mr. Charles. Cammie was her usual cheery self and loved all the attention lavished on her. She fell asleep on the ride home around the corner and slept through being lifted out of the carseat into her crib and is still napping an hour later. Of course it is still miserable out. The dogs don't even want to go outside. I guess if I paid attention to the news I would know if this was effects from a near miss of Hurricane (or tropical storm) Palin I mean Paloma. heh heh

Last night we went over to visit Chris and Julie and the girls, Ashley, Kristin and Cassidy. Cammie got passed around and socialized. She seemed to enjoy it and stayed awake for almost two hours. She slept pretty well last night and took a good nap today. Joe went to the union meeting this morning and then when he got home we did some more stuff around the house to get it looking decent. It's coming together slowly. I have some new pics just have to download them to the computer, hopefully tomorrow!

Cammie did well sleeping in her big girl crib in her own room last night, once she finally fell asleep. I swear she thinks she will miss something or else she really likes the Amazing Race. The dogs did not do so well so we are going to regroup tomorrow and figure something out. Cammie had her 4 month check up this morning and she met the new doctor, Dr. Parker and also had some flirty time with Dr. K. Our little bunny is 15 pounds 7.5 ounces and is 26 and 1/2 inches long. Yikes!!! Joe and I had a bet to see who could guess her weight and he won. She also got 4 immunizations again and wasn't real happy about that. But she did well. She is doing everything she should be doing and then some so no worries thus far. Yay! Joe just took Pudge with him to go to the convenience store and Bailey and Clyde seem to be picketing by the door in outrage so gotta go.... :o)

Sunday, November 9, 2008

Cammie is definitely feeling better today. Much less coughing and sneezing. Tonight we are going to sleep upstairs, so it will be her first night sleeping alone in her room in her big girl crib. I hope it goes well. I can't sleep well anyway so I should be fine but I'll miss her being right next to the bed!! I could just reach right over and pop the Binky back in her mouth if she got fussy. (I even had a spare one on the nightstand in case I couldn't find the original!) I know I'm spoiled! Little Miss Thing sat up for a few seconds on her own this morning. I was very excited. We go for her four month check up tomorrow, I can't believe it!!! She is getting so big. Right now her and Daddy are watching the Ravens game. I forgot to put her a jersey so they will probably lose. Sorry! Not much else is going on.

Friday, November 7, 2008

Yesterday was rough. My little sunny bunny was cranky and yelled at me for about two hours in the afternoon. She seems to be feeling better today from her cold. We didn't go to story time yesterday because I didn't want to take her out since she wasn't feeling well. She didn't sleep much last night and so far hasn't taken much of a nap. I think part of it she doesn't want to miss anything that is going on. She's quite nosy at times. In a cute way of course. Joe is off today so we can get some family time in! It's gorgeous outside!!

Tuesday, November 4, 2008

It's gross outside today. Rainy and cold. Emily and Matthew came by to move some more of Emily's boxes to her new place and she watched Cammie for me so I could go do my civic duty and vote. I can't wait for the political calls to stop. They are so annoying. Anyway, Cammie and I have had a good day so far. She is napping right now and this is the longest she has slept in a while, maybe because it's so dreary out. Not much else planned for today. Boring I know!!!

Full house on Sunday

We had a chili dinner at our house yesterday and lots of company! Alice and Emily came over early and hung out with us. Meaghan and Rick came and Meaghan brought us a box of thin mint cookies! YUM Joe admitted later he isn't big on cookies so I guess that means I can eat the whole box, he later clarified that to mean certain kinds of cookies so I guess he'll be upset when he gets home and the box is gone. (kidding). Donna and Bill also came and so did Andrew so he got to meet Cammie for the first time! Also Jennifer and Matthew came with their new daughter Grace so Cammie got to meet her second cousin too! I'll post some pics of everyone soon. Alice tried to feed Cammie some more baby food to see if she had any better luck with it but she didn't. She did however get real tears from it. Donna put a little icing on Cammie's binky and she didn't have any problem with that so obviously someone has a sweet tooth. Who doesn't though. I know it's still early for food but she's been so hungry we thought we would give it a try. It was so cute though earlier in the day she was getting sleepy so I laid in her in the crib in her room and put on a Baby Einstein dvd (we got a bunch of them from Jenn and Matt O'Neill and they are awesome!) and she fell right to sleep listening to Baby Bach! No rocking or holding or anything! Such a big girl! We don't have much planned for today just trying to recover from the weekend's festivities.

Bingo Saturday

Cammie got a Daddy day saturday. I went to play bingo at Winfield VFD with Alice, Donna and Melissa. Alice and I didn't win anything. Boooo! It was fun though but long and my back is killing me from sitting. Joe had a good day with Cammie, she got fussy with him for a bit in the evening. But after crabby hour he said she was ok. He also managed to make it through without a poopy diaper which she did about 15 minutes after I got home. I tried to find out what he bribed her with to hold it but she wasn't giving up any info to me. Such a Daddy's girl!

Happy Halloween! Booooo...

Cammie's first Halloween and Joe's birthday were good. We hung out at the house and then went and visited with Matt and Jenn and their cuties Brooke and Brody. Brooke made Cammie laugh so hard it was so cute! Cammie yelled at Jenn at first but then she settled down and we had a nice visit! That evening we took Cammie modified trick or treating to a couple of houses. She wore her pumpkin onesie that Sharon made for her and I thought she looked rather festive! One little boy even gave her one of his treats. That was so sweet and score, it was a pack of skittles which I love. We didn't have as many trick or treaters as we thought we would with Halloween being on a friday so the evening was rather quiet.

Thursday, October 30, 2008

Went to story time today with Sharon and Becca. It was so cute, all the kids were wearing their Halloween costumes. Cammie went as a cheerleader (Ravens). There were so many cool costumes. Cammie sat with Sharon for the stories and didn't yell at her like she did the other day. Becca was Supergirl! Very cool! We checked out some books afterwards and then came home to entertain the dogs. Pudge is bored lately so he hasn't been on his best behavior so we played some Frisbee in the yard and he liked that.

Tuesday, October 28, 2008

Got a lot of stuff done around the house yesterday and the dogs were happy that Joe was home. It's rainy and cold and windy today so I think we'll be sticking close to home again today. I'm dreading winter coming because my back is already hurting more and the cold makes it worse. Ugh. Cammie's room is almost done, Joe just has to hang some pics and we need to get a rug and it's finished. She seems to like it. She had a good night last night and this morning she has been very cute and playful!

Monday, October 27, 2008

Yesterday was our anniversary. Joe thought we had been married 50 years already but it's only been 9. We spent the day taking a drive out to Carroll County. We visited Pop Fisher and Granny Franny and Cammie got to meet Fisher's daughter Jackie. Not sure what kind of impact Cammie made when she arrived with a very stinky diaper. Yikes! Then we stopped in to see Donna and Bill. When we got home the pups were excited to see us even though Melissa the petsitter had come and spent lots of quality time with them. Pudge is much happier now that he got a bath the other day and that Joe is off today. We're just doing stuff around the house today. Not too much exciting! Cammie is napping in her big girl crib for the first time. She looks so tiny in it! And anyone who has met her knows she is NOT tiny. My back will attest to that as well.

Saturday, October 25, 2008

Not a bad day yesterday. Cammie was just a little fussy off and on but we had a pretty good day. She kept her bodily functions contained which I am grateful for. She had an ok night then hung out with Daddy this morning so I could run some errands. Now she is babbling away ready to party!

Thursday, October 23, 2008

Princess puke a lot struck again yesterday. I must have changed clothes four or five times for each of us. No matter what bodily fluid Cammie chooses to expel all over you she always rewards you with a big gummy smile. Ugh. She was ready to party again last night. She didn't want to stay asleep and then she woke up at about 3 raring to go. The two of us can not get on the same sleep schedule. The nights she sleeps all night I have insomnia but the nights I'm so tired I could cry she is ready to party. I think it's a plot. I also think sometimes she is just nosy and doesn't want to miss anything. Today we have been hanging out and playing. She is so funny sometimes, she'll get this really excited expression on her face and start babbling like she has something really important to tell you. I promise I'll add some new pics in the next day or so, I've heard there has been some complaints!!!! :o)

Tuesday, October 21, 2008

Yesterday my sweet little bunny pooed all over me. YUCK!! Then she laughed at me. I think she does it on purpose. Today we went to Target and she stayed awake the whole time and was interested in lots of toys and clothes. So of course even though it wasn't on the list I did get her a thing or two. I only went for diapers and formula I swear. Pop Fisher stopped by yesterday to see Cammie and she got to snuggle with him for a bit. She was very happy to see him but now wants to see Granny Franny!!!

Monday, October 20, 2008

Well yesterday I remembered to dress Cammie in her Ravens cheerleader outfit for the game and it worked! They won! Her and Joe watched the game and both fell asleep, they were so cute! Not much of an eventful day just did stuff around the house. But it's a good day when there are no violent vomit eruptions!

Saturday the 18th

Cammie and I went visiting today. We went to see her Mommom and Poppop. They were very glad to see her. We went to lunch and hung out and Cammie chatted them up and smiled and was generally adorable! On the way home we stopped to see my friend Debbie for a quick visit. I don't get to see her nearly as much as I want to. She has the cutest puppy named Harley. I'll post a picture soon. Debbie cuddled Cammie and she fell asleep. When we got home Joe had finished working on the steps so we had dinner and hung out!

Friday the 17th

The projectile puker struck again. Cammie had a good day with Daddy while I ran some errands and went to a doctors appointment in Annapolis. Then in the evening while I was holding her and she was telling me all about her day she opened her mouth and pure evil gushed out all over my lap. UGH! I bravely resisted the urge to repay her favor. She only got splashed this time but Joe had to cut my shirt off, well it was his shirt. Ooopsy. Anyway she's fine and her cold is almost gone and we have just about recovered as well. Now if the nightmares would just stop! :o)

Thursday, October 16, 2008

Cammie and I went to story time with Sharon and Becca. Cammie liked the dinosaur stories. She watched again and even put her two cents in at times. This afternoon we had to go see Dr. Dix's physician assistant Frank and she was the hit of the office. Sonja said it's because they don't see babies in there very often! But we all know it's because Cammie is just so darn cute and lovable!! All the ladies and even the patients near us got a smile from her.
She didn't like the applesauce too much today, maybe we'll try pears tomorrow!
Not much has been going on. Cammie has been sleeping through the night most nights again. She is still trying to sit up. Either that or she is getting an early start on her ab crunches. We are going to story time at the library today. She is napping now to prepare herself! She has an image to protect you know! We have to go across the bridge so I can go to the neurosurgeon's office this afternoon. Hopefully we won't be there forever. Other than that things are business as usual. All of us are recovering from our assorted illnesses and are looking forward to the weekend with Daddy!! (including the pups!)

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

Sunday we went to Meaghan and Rick's for dinner with Donna, Bill, Emily, Alice and Mike. Cammie got passed around and slept for a while. She was a little fussy because she wasn't feeling well. Yesterday I woke up sick so Cammie and Joe spent the day together. Today she is feeling better but still not quite 100% (and neither am I). We have been hanging out and watched a movie, now she is napping. She did eat some applesauce and rice this morning and did much better than with just plain rice cereal. The dogs are little irked that we aren't doing much today but it's nice enough again to leave the door open so they can go in and out so that makes them happy. Not much else to report!

Sunday, October 12, 2008

Last night Joe and I had a date night with Chris and Julie. We went to the Melting Pot for dinner. YUM! and then we went to the new Target that opened up in Annapolis. We're back to that fast paced lifestyle! We roamed around and picked up some odds and ends that everyone needed. Julie asked me if I ever thought I would be out on a date with my husband for dinner and end up shopping at Target afterwards. Ashley babysat Cammie for us along with Kristin and her friend Sam and Ashley's boyfriend. They said Cammie was good for them and we didn't get any calls from them until we were on our way home. She was smiley when we left and smiley when we got home! Poor Cammie definitely has a cold though, she is still coughing and sneezing and now she is snotty too. We put her in the bouncy seat to sleep last night so she wouldn't be flat on her back and she seemed to sleep much better. Poor little cutie!!

Saturday, October 11, 2008

Yesterday was so nice out, we went to the playground with Olivia and Eva. Cammie watched Eva play and then fell asleep for about five minutes. Then she yelled at me on the way home. Once we were home she resumed yelling and screaming for about 45 minutes, then exhausted she fell asleep for about ten minutes. Still not sure what the problem was, she even cried real tears again. I promised to buy her lots of toys and clothes if she would stop but she is not bribeable (yet). I think she wasn't feeling well, she stayed up late again last night and then got up around 1am and was sneezing and coughing. No fever but she sounds sniffly, if that's a word. Now she is sleeping peacefully in her chair in the office with her bear blankie from Granny Franny. The picture of innocence!

Friday, October 10, 2008

It was hard getting Cammie to sleep last night. She didn't take an afternoon nap and was raring to go all evening. She finally crashed at about 930. I guess she wanted to watch Survivor too (which I am just not really into this season, enough already!). The plus was that she slept all night. The minus was I couldn't sleep, I woke up about 130 and stayed awake until 6 or so and then laid back down, Cammie (and the dogs, bless them!) let me nap until about 9. Such a life of luxury. If you are really envious of my a-list lifestyle just know that when she took her 15 minute catnap around 12 I pooper scooped the dog poo in the backyard. Don't hate me because I'm fabulous!! :o) I tried spoon feeding the diva in training again and she did ok. The rice cereal is really disgusting looking and smelling. I can't imagine having to gag it down. Yuck. Cammie is also trying to sit up by herself and doing a good job of it. Although if you help her when she is on your lap she'll often do a face plant into your stomach. I think it's funny. It's gorgeous out, we may go for a walk, don't tell the dogs......

Thursday, October 9, 2008

Last night wasn't too bad, Cammie got up at 130 to eat and then slept til about 7 or so. We went to story time at the library with Sharon and Becca and then for a walk on the trail. (Don't tell the dogs). Cammie really likes story time. She watched the librarian again while she read books about elephants and then she watched the kids dance. She also spit up on me but I like to think that was because she was so happy to be there. Sharon's friend commented on how alert Cammie was for her age so obviously everyone can see how gifted she is. :o) Ha ha Today is hereby known as toss your cookies thursday. I tried telling Cammie that's being gross not gifted but she doesn't seem to care. She's not the one that has to clean it up.

Wednesday, October 8, 2008

Last night Cammie spent some time at Meaghan and Rick's house. Apparently she had such a good time that she peed all over them! At least it wasn't poo. We picked her up around 9 and she slept all the way home and then woke up around 1030, ate and then slept til about 730 this morning. Yay!! She ate again, played and then took a nap. What a sweetheart!

Much Better Night!

My prayers were answered last night! Cammie fell asleep around 730 and she woke up a couple of times but went right back to sleep until.... wait for it.... 5am. Yes, that's right!! It gets better, she drank her bottle, chatted with me for a bit and then went, dare I say it, BACK TO SLEEP!! Until 8. She really does love me!!! After another bottle and a trip out to the bus stop to say good morning to Cassidy and Mr. Chris, she watched tv and fell asleep again at about 10. I'm sure she will wake up shortly but right now I don't care!

Monday, October 6, 2008

What happened to my perfect baby that would sleep through the night??!!! Last night was better but she is back in full party animal mode. Sooo all you lovely people who offered to babysit.. feel free to give us a call between 10p and 7a we would love to take you up on your generous offer! :o) Yesterday Cammie and Daddy got some quality cuddle time and watched the Ravens game. The Ravens lost though and I think it was my fault because I forgot to put Cammie in her cheerleader outfit. I'm sure they would have won then! Other than that not much went on yesterday except getting stuff done around the house. More plans for that today!

Saturday, October 4, 2008

Not a good couple of days! Thursday night Cammie was up almost all night and just catnapped through the day friday. Sharon and Ken came to my rescue again by having us over for dinner and then keeping my social butterfly company while I took a shower. I was sure that after a long night and day that Cammie would sleep well last night but she didn't either. We were going to go watch Becca play soccer and then go to a fall festival with Alice but I was too exhausted and my stomach and back were (and still are) killing me. Sooo we just hung out and watched tv today. Although even with all the direct tv channels there still was nothing on. Joe is coming home tonight. YAY! That will make all of us, including the dogs happy. Pudge is quite pouty that his daddy is gone.

Thursday, October 2, 2008

Not much has been going on this week until today I guess. We went to storytime at the library this morning with Sharon and Becca. There were a lot of kids there! Cammie was watching the librarian read two stories about bears and she also watched when the kids did a couple of little dances and then the hokey pokey. It was really nice! Obviously she was too little to do the craft which was to make a bear puppet out of a paper bag but we had fun. Then Alice came over and we did a little shopping. Got some more Tinkerbell wall stickers for Cammie's room. I think I'm addicted to those things, not just Tinkerbell but I love the way you can peel them off and move them around. Much nicer than trying to hang those stupid pasted borders. Joe left to go to a fishing tournament in Ocean City this weekend. He won't be home until Sunday. Yikes!! Hopefully I will be able to keep my sanity intact. Stay tuned....

Busy weekend!

Whew, this weekend was busy! You go for weeks without having anything to do and then it all happens in one day or two! Yesterday I wasn't feeling great either, it figures!! Cammie was the social butterfly and she met some family she hadn't been able to see yet. Great Aunt and Uncle Deb and John and cousin Jessica! Plus she got some cuddle time with Mommom and Poppop and her Uncles Gary and Michael (they are Great in all forms of the word!) We also went to Jennifer's baby shower and Cammie got to meet her cousins Jennifer and Erin and Lauren (plus a whole lot of other people including another cute baby, I think her name was Isabella, which is pretty too!). Anyway, when we got home last night our power was out and had been for several hours so the dogs weren't happy. Plus they were a little miffed that we were gone TWO days in a row, even though the petsitters Melissa and Debbie came to play with them and feed them. Such a ruff life. Sorry that was bad I know. Joe is off this week because he is going to OC for a fishing tournament on thursday so we are trying to get stuff done around the house. Cammie is sleeping better at night so all I need to do now is re adjust my sleeping schedule! AND she is eating up a storm! Thank goodness for the rice cereal or we would be carting in Enfamil by the truckload.

Sunday, September 28, 2008

SATURDAY

What a social day! We went to a dedication and Cammie met a bunch of people that Daddy works with. She was very smiley and flirty which was cute. Although when one of Daddy's friends was talking to her she started pulling up her dress, which we told her was cute now but not later. Then we went to Donna and Bills for dinner and Paul, Daniel, Joe, Alice, Mike, Meaghan, Rick and Emily were all there. Cammie got lots of attention and fell asleep propped up on the couch. She looked like she was drunk again. We had a yummy dinner and dessert. Cammie has been scarfing up her rice and formula mix, it's like she's been starving.

Rainy Chilly Day

Today it's gross out. Cammie had another good night. This morning I gave her rice cereal in her bottle for the first time since yesterday it seemed like she couldn't get enough to eat (well drink), and she scarfed that right up. Yesterday she gave me a belly laugh for the first time and it was so cute, I had her in my lap and she was talking to me and I rubbed noses with her and she laughed (so sweet!) and then belched in my face (not so sweet but glad it was dry!). We'll work on her dainty manners later. She is a big hit where ever she goes, everyone stops to look at her and say how cute she is. Today though while running errands I dressed her in her "worlds cutest baby" shirt so people wouldn't have to comment. :o) They just know.... The dogs are mad today because it's rainy out but they are being very cuddly.

Thursday, September 25, 2008

It's been a couple of days and Cammie has had some good nights!! She has been sleeping from about 7 or 8 until 4ish, then staying awake for a little bit and then taking a nap. I, on the other hand, am still waking up for a midnight and two a.m. feeding and not being able to go back to sleep. How very frustrating! We did go to the trail with Sharon and Becca yesterday. Cammie stayed awake but she started yelling at us about halfway through. Not sure why... Daddy got some cuddle time last night with her and they both fell asleep on the couch before bed. You know you can't go to bed tired!! The dogs have been enjoying these nice days, we've been playing lots of frisbee, which entails Max and Bailey chasing the frisbees and you chasing Pudge and Clyde to get theirs. FUN!

Monday, September 22, 2008

Cammie slept all night last night, from about 8 until around 5 this morning. Yay! We spent some time outside playing with the dogs and enjoying the day. Until this afternoon.... we came upstairs and just as I walked into the kitchen, she looked at me and turned into the exorcist baby and projectile puked all over me, her and the floor. All I could do was stand there for a minute because I wondered where all the stuff came from!!! She was smiling at me, laughing inside I know. I tried ringing for the maid to come clean this crap up but she must be on permanent break (the house is a mess!). I know that's not funny. Anyway, I called Dr. K because I was like what in the h$!! is going on and they said to bring her in because there is a strep/vomit thing going around. So much to look forward to. She's fine and we won't know for another day or so if she is sick but Dr. K seemed to think it was just an unfortunate incident (I agree completely!). The only thing that would have been more unfortunate is if she had thrown up on Joe because then I would have had to clean up twice the vomit! (I managed to keep mine down thank you very much). Dr. K also implied that Cammie is the most gorgeous baby in the world, well he said she was pretty but I know what that means!

Sunday, September 21, 2008

Cammie and I went to visit Mommom and Poppop today. Daddy had to work on this gorgeous day. We had a nice lunch and then Cammie got to hang out and visit with her grandparents. It was such a pretty day. When we got home we finished looking at the fisher price catalog and decided what to convince Daddy to buy for Cammie. Of course there is a pink barbie mustang that we love. The only problem is it's for age 3 so I had to tell Cammie she would have to wait! It does hold up to 130 pounds so I have time to lose enough weight to fit in it. :o) It's bath time!!!

Friday, September 19, 2008

Not a good night last night, Cammie was ready to party all night. So today I thought I would be able to get a nap in but she had other ideas for that. We did go to the outlets for a bit with Emily since it was so gorgeous outside. Then we came home had some lunch and Cammie took a brief nap and then began yelling at me. It was mixed with periods of quiet and cute noises, just enough to mess with my head I'm sure! All in all it was a good day. Tomorrow is Joe's only day off this weekend so hopefully we can have a nice scream free day. I've got my fingers crossed.

Thursday, September 18, 2008

Yesterday started out really nice, but sometime in the afternoon I think someone snuck into the house and put Cammie's crankypants on. She must have yelled at me for about three hours. Neither one of us were very happy. It got to the point where all the dogs went out and laid in the yard for a little peace and quiet. Chris and Julie stopped in and Cammie cheered up a little bit then.
Today has been nice so far but I am getting nervous about the afternoon! Cammie is definitely a morning person. She's all smiles and coos. She does NOT get that from me. The really cute thing she has started doing (of course everything but the yelling is cute to us!) is looking at the picture of a baby on the wipes container and smiling and babbling to it.

Tuesday, September 16, 2008

Cammie and I spent the day recovering from our mini vacation. She has been sleeping better at night and I think she was exhausted from all the fresh air she got and the activity! I know I was. We had a quiet day and now she is napping. She spent most of the morning smiling and making cute baby noises at me. She seems to do that also while you are cleaning her dirty diaper. I guess the cuteness makes up for the grossness? Not for Daddy it doesn't!!! Also had a good day with the dogs, they were outside playing most of the day since it was nice and cool. Now they are also napping. I think I may join them, I need to rest up so I don't go to bed tired!

Sunday at the Beach

What a great time, we went to Ocean City and Cammie had so much fun. We walked on the boardwalk with Donna and Bill and then in the evening we went down to the water. Sporting her new bikini Cammie got her toes dipped in the water with Daddy and after the initial surprise seemed to like it!! We got lots of sun while our little beach bunny smelled like suntan lotion!! I hated to give her a bath except that she smells so good after that as well. We had a lot of fun and Cammie got a bike week onesie (in addition to some other things!) Can't wait to go back and stay longer. Pics coming soon!

Thursday, September 11, 2008

Good Day

Cammie slept from about 10 til 5 last night. Yay! She woke up a few times but just laid in her crib playing and making cute baby noises. After breakfast she took a little nap, long enough for me to get some quality time with the pups. Then she spent some time in her playpen by herself and then we both took a nap in the recliner before Daddy got home! The weather is so nice out, I love having the windows open and the dogs love when the slider door is open because they can go in and out and lay on the patio yet still keep an eye on what is going on in the house.

2 Month Checkup

Any concerns we had about Cammie's weight are done now. She went for her two month check up today and she weighs 11 pounds 11.5 ounces and is 23 1/2 inches long. I'm glad I got the next size up in diapers!! She also got 4 immunizations so she wasn't very happy with Dr. K. He said she is a perfect baby. Well he didn't exactly say that but I know that is what he meant. She cried real tears for the first time! She is sleeping it off now and is glad that she doesn't have to go back until she is 4 months old.

Tuesday

Cammie had a good night last night and then today we went to Easton with Alice and Meaghan. All of us heard Daddy tell Cammie she could have whatever she wanted so we tried to get her to pick out some toys but she appeared to be overwhelmed by the choices. :o) She was very good and several people told her how cute she was and I completely agree.
A damper was put on our outing when we got home and found out that somehow Pudge had gotten out of his locked crate. I'm still not sure how he did it. That in itself wouldn't have been so bad except that he had gotten sick in several places on the floor. YUCK!! Alice was nice enough to help me clean it up and he was fine after that.

We had company again yesterday for dinner, Alice and Mike, Bill and Donna and Meaghan and Rick all came over. Cammie got passed around and socialized with everyone. She managed to stay awake most of the time. Rick fixed our computer. Unfortunately we lost everything we had saved on it, pics etc... but at least it works again. Yay! So I can add more pics of Cammie. I know everyone is as excited as I am.
Last night Cammie slept from about 9 until 630 this morning. I couldn't believe it. Of course I was up checking to make sure she was still asleep and wondering when she was going to wake up. Not much going on today, just hanging out!

Surviving the storm

So far we have made it through tropical storm hanna. It really has only been rainy and windy throughout the day. The wind is picking up now. We just hung out today and watched a House marathon and intervals of the weather channel. I know we are too exciting!!! We've also been trying to get Cammie to go to sleep. She was back to her party animal ways last night but I couldn't sleep so it wasn't too bad. Neither one of us napped today so hopefully tonight will be a good one.

Another good night last night! Today has been ok. Lots of watching the weather channel waiting to hear exactly what Hanna is going to do. Joe is coming home early to take Bailey and Clyde to the vet and then we'll pick up stuff in the yard. It doesn't sound like things will be too bad so I've got my fingers crossed! It also looks like Ike will go to the gulf so hopefully this will be it for this season. Cammie is unconcerned with the whole thing. She has been eating like a little piggie, which is good for her and bad for my poor back. She is smiling so much, and please don't tell me it's gas!!! She is also rolling over in her crib when she wakes up. Too cute!

Thursday Sept 4th

Last night was great, Cammie stayed in bed from about 9 to 4. As usual I woke up at 2 and couldn't go back to sleep. We had a pretty good day. Went for a walk at the trail with Sharon and Becca and Cammie slept through the whole thing. I must not be very good company!!

We tried the shopping thing again today. Lynn went with us and Cammie seemed to enjoy herself and all of the attention she got. She got to meet our friend Angel and her daughter who works in the Carters store. YAY. We did some shopping in there of course. An elderly couple stopped to say how cute Cammie was and she showed her thanks by giving them a loud belch and then a cute smile. What a way to win friends!! It was a gorgeous day and we had a lot of fun and luckily I didn't do too much damage shopping so I will be able to go out with Lynn again!! :o) More pictures coming soon I promise!

It's only lunch time and I'm beat already! We had a nice weekend. Didn't do much except stuff around the house. Joe needed a day or so to recover from his shift from hell on Saturday. He knew it would be bad when he started out the shift with a working fire. Yikes! Today I took Cammie with me to my doctors appointment and I planned on going to the outlets afterwards so we could do a little shopping/walking/bonding. I made it into the Carters store and Cammie started screaming!! How can my little girl not like to shop???? I left after that and she fell asleep in the car and has been asleep since. It was really funny last night, she slept in her crib without the bouncy for the second night in a row, but she managed to turn herself all the way around so that her feet were where her head had been. I'm kind of sorry I missed that!!
Not much else is going on.

Whew...

Last night was a bit difficult. We are trying to get Cammie to sleep in her crib without being in the bouncy seat and she kept waking up but would fall back to sleep. She drank 8 ounces of formula before bed. Today someone put her in her cranky pants. Joe went into work overtime for 24 hours and this morning I thought I had it made when Cammie and I took a good nap. Then she woke up and every time I tried to put her down she screamed. I kept changing and feeding her but it didn't help. Sharon saved me by coming over and holding her while I got in the shower and then she kept me company for a bit and then I went to her house and had dinner with her and Ken and Becca. She was quite the lifesaver. Now my little screaming beauty is smiling at me while trying to keep heavy eyes open (after drinking 8 ounces again). I think tonight we will sleep in the bouncy again and we'll try just the crib when daddy will be home!! I know I'm a chicken....

Rainy blah day

Not much going on today. Joe had off so he got some daddy time with Cammie. It's been rainy and gross all day. We were going to go to the outlets but it's been misty. Hopefully we will be able to do something this weekend although we'll be trapped on the eastern shore because of stupid bridge traffic. We did take Cammie and the dogs for a short walk in between rains. Cammie fell asleep and then took a nice nap. yay! She rolled over again today so that daddy could see her and she has been smiling away. Such a CUTIE!!!

Not much going on

Yesterday and today have been mostly uneventful. Cammie and I have both had crying fits, mine start when she won't stop. It's not bad just challenging trying to find out why she is crying. I think it's mostly frustration that I don't know what she wants! :o) She is smiling more and more and when we kiss her cheek she tries to suck on your nose. Really, it's cute. She rolled over from her back to her stomach today. I was much more excited than she was about it. I think I'm starting to get the hang of this being a mom thing. I would have to say that it is the most challenging job that I've ever had although some of the people I have worked with in the past have been more infantlike than Cammie. She's napping right now so I'm about to try to get one in myself.

Busy day today

What a day. Cammie had a good night last night. Joe took off today because the guy came to put up our new fence. Anyone who has been to our house recently would agree that we needed a new one. Our fear was that the dogs have figured out how to open the gate and even though we would bungee the gate, they may be able to figure that out as well. I still think that they get together and plot against me, we are outnumbered!!! :o) One morning I woke up and they were all staring at me. Anyway, Joe did have to go into work this afternoon for a meeting about his new work schedule. I took Cammie with me to the GI doctor and found out that this month I do have Crohn's Disease. That is subject to change next month as it has every time I have been back to the doctor. At least I can have some tests done now.
The weather was gorgeous today. Joe and I took Cammie and the dogs for a walk earlier and it was so nice. Not looking forward to the mess that is going to happen with the bridge being fouled up for the next ten weeks. Someone ought to kick that girl that caused the accident!!

Monday, August 25, 2008

I think all 3 of us (7 if you count the pups) were crying last night. Cammie did not want to go to sleep but when she FINALLY did it was worth it. I accidently woke her up this morning or I think she would have slept much longer. She got up at midnight and then at 430 (my fault) but she was kind enough to let me lie down for an hour or so after that while she laid in her crib and watched her "aquarium" toy. It plays music that is quite relaxing, I find myself watching the light show too. No real excitement yesterday, just hung around the house and tried to get stuff done. Same thing today. We had a crying fit for about an hour or so (mine still last a bit longer) but bribes of trips to Disneyworld seemed to work. yay! We can't wait to take her to our favorite place.

Cammie parties on......

Last night was great!! Cammie slept from about 10 til 3ish and then actually went back to sleep until 630. As usual I was awake every hour or so making sure she was still in the crib. :o) She had a really good morning as well. Joe had to get up early to go get his work truck since he is on call this weekend and then he went fishing with Richie. Unfortunately they didn't catch the rockfish that's worth all the money!! This afternoon we went to Cassidy's birthday party and Cammie managed to stay awake for most of the festivities! She got held by Ashley, Kristin and Julie. It was a gorgeous day again today. We left the ac off and it has been so nice.

Friday, August 22, 2008

It seems as though the best way to get people to come visit you is by having a baby! Just kidding. Last night we had our friend's daughter Kristin and her friend come over. (they live a few houses down.) The girls were funny trying to get Cammie to smile and laughing at the faces she made at them. Today my best friend Debbie and her daughter Nicole (who is grown up with a son of her own, I won't give ages to protect the identity of the innocent.......) came over and since it was such a beautiful day we went to lunch at the Jetty. That was the place to be as Olivia (next door) and her mom and daughter Eva were sitting at the table behind us. This afternoon Richie and Alexis stopped by and brought Cammie an appropriate t shirt that said if she doesn't sleep no one else does either! So true. I'm a little afraid for tonight because she did sleep a lot today. Maybe she shouldn't have had all that beer at lunch....

Party Girl

Today was a busy day! Last night Cammie slept pretty well. Up at midnight and 415 or so. She went across the street to stay with Lynn for an hour so I could go to the doctors. He was so nice I am so annoyed that I put up with my ob for the whole pregnancy when I should have switched to this practice!! I kicked myself all the way home. Also my appointment was at 1045 and I was out by 1110. Yea!!
This afternoon we went next door for Becca's fourth birthday party and Cammie slept the whole time. She woke up a few times. She's awake now, gotta go....

Six hour sleepathon

I couldn't believe it, Cammie slept from 9p to 3a last night. Of course I was awake every hour making sure that she was OK. Ugh... She allowed me to nap this morning and for thanks I took her to the trail at Terrapin Beach with Sharon and Becca and we went for a walk. She slept through the entire walk of course but it was a beautiful day! The dogs were a little put out that we went for a walk without them but I promised to make it up to them! I think they forgave me. Cammie is napping again so guess what I'm going to do.... I don't envy working moms, I think I would either fall asleep at work or be so nasty from being tired no one would want to be near me!!

Finally awake for a shopping trip!!!

Today we went to Target with Alice and Cammie stayed awake!! Almost the whole time. She was wide eyed in the store as we tried to get her to pick out the things she wanted Daddy to buy her. I did get freaked out in the doll aisle. I can't stand those realistic looking dolls, cabbage patch ones are about the limit. Even Barbies give me the skeevies. Anyway, we found some neat stuff and noted some neat stuff for next time!! I have a feeling Miss Cammie won't be hurting for things to play with.

Monday August 18th

Wow, today was a tough one. Cammie had a pretty good night but this afternoon she cried for about two hours and I couldn't figure out why. The second hour I was crying with her. Even the dogs were sympathetic. Pudge was sitting next to me either thinking that he wished I could shut off the waterworks or he wished there was something he could do for us. Finally it stopped! and she promptly fell asleep. and so did I....

Sunday August 17th

We had company again today. Uncle Michael and Aunt Donna came over as well as Captain Fisher and Ms. Fran (who will now be known as Granny Franny). We had a mini cookout and Cammie got to snuggle with everyone and slept most of the time. The dogs were also very excited to have people over and they behaved very well.
Last night (sunday night) was pretty good. Cammie slept fairly well. Poor Joe had to go back to work today. Not much else exciting is happening.

Meeting more people!!

Today started out to be just a quiet day at home. Olivia from next door called and said that they were having a one year birthday party for their beautiful daughter Eva and that we should come over. So Cammie attended her first party! She slept through most of it but everyone got to see her and we had a nice time. Cammie has a busier social life in the past five weeks than we have had in years I think. :o) Time for a nap!!!

Friday the 15th

Another social day today. Cammie's grandparents (regular and great!!) came to visit. First we went to Rustico for lunch. (YUM) and then back to the house for a visit. Last night was another long night of partying with Cammie. She should be worn out by now! She did get a nap after cuddling with everyone for a while. Both her Poppop and Mommom got to feed her and got lots of quality time. AND after dinner and a bath Cammie did sleep for a nice long time. Yea for Joe and I!!!

Thursday, July 14

Today (the 14th) was a looong day. Miss Cammie was a party animal last night and this morning. She did not want to sleep. We hung out with Sharon and Becca in the afternoon and Sharon was able to see Cammie while she was awake and then managed to get her to nap for a short time. Cammie is lucky to have a friend like Becca, Becca is now 4 and got a big girl bed so she is giving her crib to Cammie to use! Of course if Cammie never sleeps again I guess we won't use it much!!

Busy Social Day

Yesterday we had lots of company! Cousin Meaghan came over for lunch and hung out with us and so did Cousin Emily. After Meaghan left then Uncle Gary and Uncle Michael came by on their way home from Ocean City. Unfortuneatly Cammie slept through most of their visit but we got to chat for a while and Cammie got some cuddle time with both of her uncles. Had to check to make sure that Uncle Gary was not leaving with Cammie or Clyde!! He's so silly. After dinner Cammie had her first shriek free bath. So I must be doing something right?! She slept pretty well but does enjoy at least a couple hours of night time bonding. Yikes. This morning when I changed her diaper I realized how tired I was when I had been up with her the previous time as it just about fell off. Oops! Luckily a mess was avoided. More visitors due this week and weekend. Looking forward to it!!!

August 11, 2008

Today was Cammie's one month check up. She weighs 10 pounds 1 ounce and is 22 inches long. Dr. K was very impressed with how well she is doing and said not to worry about her stomach issues. Cammie got her second HepB vaccination and took it like a champ. Now I know how the moms of all those babies and kids feel when I used to draw blood, start IVs and give immunizations. It's a lot easier when it's not your baby!! I think I did good too! This week we have lots of visitors coming so it should be exciting. Of course the dogs think everyone comes to see them, they settle down pretty quick once the initial excitement wears off. They have done so well with welcoming Cammie into our home.

August 10, 2008

I can't believe Joe and I have a one month old daughter now! The past month has flown by in a haze of bringing Cammie home, not sleeping much, trying to get feedings straight and trying to see all the people who want to meet Cammie. Joe went back to work last week and left me alone with her but we made out fine. A couple of days slipped by without accomplishing much besides feeding and changing diapers but I did manage to get out a couple of times and take a shower just about every day! (I think...) I love being a mom, it's so funny how your life does change. I thought I was OK with just being a mom to 4 lovable labs but I don't know how we ever managed without having Cammie in our lives. I know I'm biased but she is so gorgeous and sweet. (Pics coming soon!!!) She goes back to the pediatrician for her one month check up tomorrow.

Looking for a Lab?
